I do love suspenseful stories, but the use of the word curdle in the first place confuses me. Although waking up with your hands red just sounds like waking up to your period starting. All joking aside, I do like the mystery involved of what the hell is actually happening while the protagonist keeps waking up to different horrifying scenes, usually involving another version of themselves and their mother being killed.

I’m confused that at some point the protagonist is forced to kill his mother fifteen times before he realizes he’s in hell? The only explanation we’re given is that the protagonist is in hell for killing his mother and forced to relieve that action for a long time. I liked the mystery, but it isn’t solved clearly. I really don’t understand why he goes from saying that his mother abused him for 15 years to calling her a guardian angel
